Create a Welcoming Kitchen
There is nothing quite like a warm and welcoming kitchen in a family home. It’s a place to gather, eat, create, and converse, and it can and should be the true heart of a home. Here are some simple tips to help you create a welcoming kitchen that begs to be congregated in!
Ensure the kitchen is fresh and clean. If it’s in need of a revamp, you can make a few small and affordable changes which make a big impact. These include:
- Replace cabinet and door handles
- Install a new stainless steel kitchen sink and faucets from Anaheim’s Wholesale Sinks
- Update window treatments with options that allow the space to be flooded with natural light
- Use complementary jars and containers to keep products such as pasta, rice, flour, sugar, salt etc – it looks better than keeping these products in their supermarket packages
- If you have room, add a kitchen table and seating, or seating at a bench. This will encourage wider use of the space
- Keep bench space neat and clear but not sterile. A bowl of fresh lemons and limes looks fantastic on the bench, as does a vase or mason jar of fresh flowers
- Make use of all space and display only pieces that you love and that looking at makes you feel happy
- Buy fresh and new tea towels and dishcloths on a regular basis. Yes, the old ones do the job, but they look shabby and this brings the look of the kitchen down a notch or two
- Choose a wall color that you love and that complements your cabinetry. If you choose colored appliances (kettle, toaster, mix master, etc), make sure they match or complement each other and the space as well
- Consider a rug for the kitchen floor to warm and brighten the space
- If you have crockery or glassware that you love, use it not only functionally but also as a decorative feature
- If your cabinets are dark, consider having lighter countertops – lightening the space will make it look larger
From new and sparkling kitchen sinks and faucets to a bowl of fresh citrus or flowers on the countertop, there is an array of ways to revamp your kitchen to make it more welcoming and a place you won’t want to leave…
